We are the Living Arts Foundation, commonly referred to as LAF. We are situated on a one acre property on the border of Candler and West Asheville, only 13 miles from downtown Asheville. Our center is called LAUGH, the Living Arts Gathering House with yoU in the middle.

History

The previous steward of our property is none other than the legendary artist, Rob Seven, a well-respected and funkafied folk artist in Asheville known for up-cycling materials into highly engaging and controversial art. Rob Seven lived and created art on the property for twenty years with the vision that it would one day open its doors to the community. That way, we would ALL become the stewards of a place to play, work, perform, eat and entertain together.

In the summer of 2014, three generations came together to birth the Living Arts Foundation, which is currently being incubated on the property we refer to as LAUGH. The property runs creek-side, just down from Mount Pisgah on Highway 151 with quick access to the Blue Ridge Parkway as well as local parks and hikes in the Pisgah National Forest.
